Monday 19.9 - Tuesday 20.9


 Monday 19.9 

On Monday morning we had breakfast at the hotel. It was just like i thought it would be: there were multiple kind of cheese, yummy pastries like croissants and plain de chocolat, and for example the juice was from fresh oranges. 





 After the breakfast we took our suitcases and left to Mesnieres-en-bray by the car of the headmaster of Institut st. joseph. The drive was about 1h. During that drive we noticed how fast it´s common to drive in France. When we arrived to the school, we had a little tour around the school and the garden, we also got to see the chef class, and we introduced ourselves to them.



After that we had lunch in school diner. The food was somehow different from finnish school food. But it was good! 😋 
When we had eaten, the teachers drove us to Dieppe where we met our coworkers and the boss, whom the chef teacher knew. They seemed really nice. 

We got coca cola to drink, made the papers and put the handwritings on them. After that went walking to the streets and went to do some shopping, because our teachers from Finland were here just a few days. When everything was done we drove back to mesnieres-en-bray. We got our rooms, took our suitcases there and rested a little. After a little while we were invited to dinner. 

We walked around the school a little bit after dinner and talked with the colleague students. When it got dark outside we went to the school´s kiosk and bought some sodas. Then we just chilled on the sports hall.







Tuesday 20.9

On tuesday morning we had breakfast in the learning restaurant. It was really delicious. 




After breakfast we left to Dieppe again at 11.

Flying to France and the first day.

The trip started from Kouvola bus station on Sunday 18th September. A taxi came to pick us students and teachers up on 03.00am and then the trip could start. We drove to Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport. The flight was estimated at 7.30 but we were so early that when we had left our bags and got through security check, we ate some breakfast in the café and slowly arrived at waiting area. The flight was nice and went pretty fast and it was also a little earlier in the destination at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, at about 10.20. We took our bags and walked to the taxi that was waiting for us.  We drove to Rouen that was 1,5 hours far from Paris. When we arrived there, at the hotel was waiting the headmaster of Institut St. Joseph, who helped us to get the hotel rooms in Rouen and welcomed us to France. We took our suitcases to the rooms and after that went to check the places outside. We found one nice street restaurant " Holy Moly Gourmet Burger ", kind of like a burge...

23.9 Friday

On Friday we left again early for work. I had a good mood and feeling about the first two days and was ready for another day. I was told that i can go help with breakfast that was downstairs. I helped with clean cutlery and cups. I put some plates and cups on the tables, and spoons. Then there was also forks and knives that we put to inside those paper "bags". And all on the tables.I helped a little with washing the tables. We used sponges to that work.     We took the cutlery to washing machine "lave-vaisselle".

21.9 Wednesday & 22.9 Thursday

 On wednesday we woke up early and with a good mood for the day. We had a little breakfast, and left for work by the car of the teacher in St. Joseph. We went to the air bnb office and left our suitcases there. Then we left for work. First we met the head chef, who showed us around the hotel and restaurant and the places for switching to working clothes. After the little ”tour” we went to put working clothes on and met the chef again in kitchen. We said ”bonjour” to coworkers and they gave some work to do in the kitchen. We cut some fish, i don’t know how to say that but i just watched from beside, and tried a little myself. It went pretty well👍. After i had cut some fish, I watched what minni got to do in the kitchen. It was interesting. After some time in the kitchen, we had a lunch in the restaurant. I had ”un plat” where there was truffle and meat. We also got dessert. I had a fruit salad, it was ”très bien”😋. When we had ate, i got ”un tablier” to wear and had some job to d...
